Laka have added an affordable new concert-sized model, the VUC50, to their extensive ukulele range.
The Laka VUC50 features a solid mahogany top, with mahogany back and sides, all in a tone-friendly open pore satin finish, and these are complemented perfectly by the mahogany/nato neck and rosewood fingerboard.
The VUC50’s onboard, side-mounted chromatic tuner – which features an easy-read LCD display that flashes green when your note’s in tune – makes tuning the instrument incredibly simple, while the chrome machine heads with white pearloid buttons increase tuning stability. As with all Laka ukes, the VUC50 comes fitted with a set of premium grade Italian Aquila strings.
The VUC50 is the big brother of the hugely successful Laka VUS50 soprano ukulele. Concert-sized models feature a 15” scale length, compared to a soprano’s 13” scale, and have a correspondingly bigger sound.
At £89.99 UK RRP, and in stores now, the Laka VUC50 is the ideal choice for students and more advanced players who require great tones and professional features in an affordable package.
The extensive Laka range features both acoustic and electro-acoustic ukuleles in soprano, tenor and concert sizes, with models available to suit any budget. For more discerning players, a number of exotic tonewoods, such as spalted maple, koa and butterfly wood, are on offer.
Laka is distributed worldwide by John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. For more information, visit the JHS website.
